Prayer Letter for Germany - December 2020

Dear intercessors, 

In the prayer letter this month you will read: "As God spoke through the prophet to Israel (Isaiah 60:1-2), he also wants to fill our land with his glory in the midst of darkness and this is God’s will for the Christmas season 2020! "

It seems at this moment that the churches in Germany will be allowed to hold services at Christmas (Weihnachten). It is traditional here for families to meet together on Christmas Eve (Heiligabend) and many attend a church service in the evening or in the morning on Christmas Day. As the seating capacity will have to be limited, many churches are planning to offer more services this year and some services may even be outside if weather permits. But because of travel restrictions and recommendations to meet in smaller groups, Christmas will be very different for most families.

Let us pray that God will "fill our land with his glory" at this difficult time and that hearts will be reached for Jesus in the celebration of his birth, both here in Germany and wherever you will be at Christmas. 

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light” and he [Jesus] is called “Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.”(Isaiah 9)
