Prayer Letter for Germany - October 2025

Dear intercessors,

This month we introduce the October prayer letter in English with some of the same text as in the source prayer letter for October which is distributed in Germany in the German language. As you will realise as you read the prayer letter, the news of the death of Charlie Kirk in the USA and the detailed information in the media concerning his life, his family, his Christian ministry, the memorial service in the State Farm Stadium in Arizona has indeed profoundly influenced the whole world. Germany is certainly no exception !

"The murder of Charlie Kirk, but also the reactions to it, have touched us all deeply. Rarely do events happen that shake the entire world at once. We may have different opinions about the positions Charlie held and may not agree with everything. But his courage, his clarity, and his willingness to engage in dialogue and exchange with those who think differently, based on what he recognised as true for himself, were impressive. Even here in Germany, where Charlie Kirk was not so well known, the ripples of his execution have had a tangible impact. They make us aware of the extent to which polarization, defamation, and outright hatred shape our societies. The question is: "How should we respond?"

The current prayer letter addresses these and other questions and prayer requests. But we also ask you to pray for the "Germany Prays" events on October 3rd, as Christians in Germany from diverse backgrounds and persuasions will express their gratitude to God for 35 years of German unity and celebrate together!

Thanksgiving services will be held during the day, and the "Germany Sings and Sounds" concert will take place again in public spaces in many cities starting at 7:00 p.m.

We trust that you will really feel unity with German intercessors as you pray this month.
